I am an associate professor at the Norwegian University of Science and Technology, a consulting oncologist at The Cancer Clinicc at St Olav’s university hospital, and a senior researcher at SINTEF Industry. I have academic training as a medical doctor, and a Master of Science in nanotechnology. I completed my PhD in systems medicine in 2016, and became a certified specialist in clinical oncology in 2023. Today, I lead the Flobak lab, where we focus on computer simulations of cancer cell signalling and function precision medicine using patient-derived tumouroids to identify potential therapies for clinical use.
I’m involved with several precision medicine initiatives in Norway, including the IMPRESS-Norway trial as member of the Trial Management Committee and as a study doctor, and I lead the Norwegian Precision Medicine Cancer Group (NPCG) for conologists and diagnosticians. I also lead the ERA PerMed OncoLogis consortium, with partners from Institut Curie, Charité, Uppsala University and the Barcelona Supercomputing Centre.
In addition to research I love mountain climbing, computer gaming, and reading classics to my children.
